While the advocates work to help secure additional legal representation to Alexa’s case, the court has appointed an appellant attorney to represent her in the appeal efforts.

This seasoned attorney is great, and willing to fight for Alexa and Emily.

In this parish/county of Louisiana, the court mails judgements and detailed information. The mailing period is 5-7 days. The clock to submit a briefing starts the day the information is mailed, not received. This cuts the time for our attorney to submit a briefing even smaller than the 15 days already outlined.

The attorney is looking for any other legal representatives out there whom have fought to re-establish parental custody/rights from a Safe Haven case in the past. Our group is running into brick walls trying to find any attorneys.
